Product Manager — Paper Segment

Full-Time | Chicago/Remote

Reports To: SVP Marketing & Corporate Strategy

POSITION SUMMARY

We're looking for a Product Manager with a foundation in product, marketing, or sales who is ready to take ownership of a segment and grow with it. This role is built for someone who has developed solid business instincts over their career, knows how to get things done cross-functionally, and is eager to deepen their expertise in product strategy, pricing, and market development within the paper and print industry. You'll have real responsibility from day one — and a team around you that's invested in helping you succeed and advance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Lifecycle Management

  • Manage the paper segment portfolio across the full product lifecycle, with support and mentorship from senior leadership

  • Contribute to roadmap development by bringing market observations, customer feedback, and sales insights to the table

  • Support new product introduction (NPI) processes from concept through launch, building your project management skills along the way

  • Participate in SKU performance reviews and help shape rationalization recommendations

Pricing & Margin Management

  • Own day-to-day competitive price tracking and develop your ability to translate data into actionable pricing recommendations

  • Build and maintain pricing models with increasing independence over time

  • Partner with finance and senior PM staff on margin analysis and price change initiatives

  • Learn the full picture of how pricing strategy impacts the business — and have a voice in shaping it

Marketing & Promotions

  • Develop product collateral, sell sheets, and promotional content with a growing degree of ownership

  • Support go-to-market execution for new product launches and seasonal promotions

  • Bring fresh ideas to how we position and promote products in a competitive market

  • Collaborate with marketing communications on trade presence and product messaging

Sales Enablement & Training

  • Build deep product knowledge and become a reliable resource for the sales team on the paper segment

  • Create and maintain training materials, product guides, and sales tools

  • Participate in customer-facing meetings and presentations, growing your confidence and skill in that environment over time

  • Work closely with field sales to understand customer needs and feed those insights back into product strategy

Competitive Intelligence & Market Analysis

  • Own ongoing competitive research — tracking pricing, product positioning, and market movement across key competitors

  • Analyze sales trends and category data to surface insights that inform product decisions

  • Conduct voice-of-customer research and synthesize findings for the broader team

  • Develop your market expertise in paper and print into a genuine competitive advantage for the business

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work across sales, operations, finance, and marketing — building the relationships and credibility that make product management effective

  • Participate in S&OP and business review processes, developing your understanding of how the business operates end-to-end

  • Take on stretch assignments that build your skill set and increase your visibility across the organization

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in product management, marketing, sales, or a closely related field

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, analyze data, and communicate findings clearly

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; ERP or CRM experience a plus

  • Familiarity with the paper, print, or distribution industry preferred — but not required for the right candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field

  • A genuine growth mindset — you're not looking for a job to coast in; you want to build something and get better at your craft

WHY THIS ROLE

This is a real product management seat — not a support role. You'll have ownership, accountability, and room to grow into a senior-level contributor. If you're someone who has been developing their skills and is ready for a role where your effort directly shapes outcomes, this is it.
